Nick Adams doesn’t write his own tweets
Heartbreaking news from the social media world: a spy tells Cockburn that Nick Adams, the Trump surrogate, author and self-proclaimed “Alpha Male,” hires a communications firm to write most of his tweets. He may not, therefore, be the author behind classics such as “Joe Biden has never been to a Hooters.” Adams’s entire “Alpha Male” persona is a highly effective troll job that has led his account to reach massive engagement levels. Adams recently made headlines for getting into a Twitter war with former professional golfer Paige Spiranac after he said slow female golfers should only be allowed to play par-three courses. Cockburn wonders what “alpha male” would intentionally alienate Spirinac and what she calls her “fantastic milkers.”

Harry and the royal PR machine

Prince Harry’s book, Spare, talks a lot about how the palace often stepped in to protect senior royals against the tabloids. He claimed that there were often “heinous” stories about him offered as a swap, especially by his stepmother Camilla, where he was  “sacrificed” on her “personal PR altar.”

His claims are the subject of laughs in royal circles, as Harry seems to be suffering with selective memory. It stretches credulity that he never garnered the same treatment in his younger, more rambunctious days…

Having a gas

Forget inflation, congressional carnage and classified documents: the week’s biggest controversy was over gas stoves. The Consumer Product Safety Commission caused fury by announcing that it was looking into regulating gas stoves due to “concern over harmful indoor air pollutants.” The right rallied, assuming that the war on gas stoves was being waged by woke environmentalists. AOC mocked the defenders on her Instagram story, before explaining why it’s fine that her apartment has a gas stove: “First of all, I rent.” Who conducted the study that earned the CPSC’s attention? The one that suggested a link between gas stoves and child asthma? That would be the Rocky Mountain Institute, which Spectator writer Luke Thompson characterizes as “a front group for the renewables industry.” Who saw that coming?!

Alexi McCammond, Biden administration press secretary?

Then, November 2017: Alexi McCammond, an Axios reporter, asks to be taken off the Biden beat due to her blossoming relationship with Biden deputy press secretary TJ Ducklo, presumably to avoid conflict of interest and questions about her impartiality. “We stand behind her and her coverage,” an Axios spokeswoman told People.

Now, January 2023: Alexi McCammond, once again an Axios reporter, co-authors a piece headlined “Historic transportation crises haunt Buttigieg,” which runs defense for the administration. “Buttigieg has in several cases been the victim of circumstances that predated his time in office — such as the ancient computers and infrastructure that appeared to contribute to the FAA disaster,” she writes.

Going up in the world with Ye

If you thought we left Kanye West’s theatrics in 2022, you were wrong. The disgraced rapper has reportedly married an architectural designer from Yeezy, Bianca.

The news follows a paparazzi snap where Kanye and Bianca were photographed grabbing lunch with wedding bands on.

Well, at least that will put an end to the elevator wars. Kanye’s been living at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills for months now; the last three girls he’s dated have posted photos of themselves in the Waldorf elevator to “check” one another. Cockburn wonders if elevator girls Vinettria and Juliana Nalu were invited to the private ceremony.
